our Services
Routine Exams & Cleanings
At your biannual exams, we will perform a thorough examination and cleaning. During the exam portion of your visit, we will make sure your teeth and gums are nice and healthy.
We’ll also take X-rays to check for any signs of tooth decay or other issue we may not be able to see with the naked eye. Once we’ve ensured that your smile is in great shape, we’ll move on to the full-mouth cleaning
This is when we rid your teeth of any plaque, tartar, or food build up, and clean along the lining of your gums to stave off any gingivitis-causing bacteria. It’s the gentle care you need and deserve and definitely can save you loads on expensive dental issues in the future!
our Services
Periodontal (Gum) Care
If your gums are tender, red, or bleed when you floss or brush, you might have some level of gum disease. Mild gum disease, or gingivitis, can be easily resolved with a trip to our office for a cleaning, as well as proper at-home care. If your gum issues are more severe, however, Dr. Miranda might recommend a deep cleaning, such as a periodontal scaling or root planing and scaling.
our Services
Composite Dental Fillings
Fillings are a common dental procedure we use to repair a tooth with decay, cracks, or fractures. Our fillings are a tooth-colored composite that match your other teeth, giving your restoration a seamless look and feel.
our Services
Tooth Extractions
While keeping your natural teeth is always our number one goal, sometimes a tooth is too damaged or infected to be saved. In those cases, we recommend a tooth extraction, which we can perform in our office.
A simple extraction is the removal of a tooth that is already visible in your mouth. If your tooth hasn’t erupted yet, the procedure is more complicated and will involve surgery.
This can happen if the crown of your tooth breaks off at the gum line or if you need a wisdom tooth extraction. Dr. Miranda has many years of experience with both simple and complicated tooth extractions.
our Services
Nightguards & Athletic Mouthguards
Some people subconsciously grind their teeth at night while they sleep and cause damage to their teeth and jaw. We can make a custom-fitted nightguard that will protect your teeth against grinding and reduce the symptoms of TMJ (temporomandibular joint) disorder. TMJ can cause headaches, jaw pain, and other painful conditions.
Did you know that if you don’t wear a mouthguard during a sporting event, you are 60 times more likely to damage your teeth? Those aren’t good odds! At Texas Dental, we can fit you with a mouthguard that will provide protection from injury during sporting events.
